Designed by Andrea Palladio for the
Venetian noble Francesco Badoer, Villa Badoer was completed in 1563.
It is part of the Unesco World Heritage Site "City of Vicenza and the
Palladian Villas of the Veneto". The photo was taken from a
mid-landing in front of the main structure looking toward the right-hand
curvilinear barchessa (or wing). The barchesse originally housed
agricultural activities. These are unusual among Palladio's built
works in that they do not actually touch the villa and are set slightly in
front of it.
